The OnePlus 6T was launched in November last year and it was one of the best flagship smartphones at that time. It is a good phone till now and you might be confused about buying it. It is priced at Rs. 32999 for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant and Rs. 36999 for 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant as of June 2019. So should you buy it now? Or should you buy another smartphone? Let′s find out considering both its positive and negative things.
Design:
It has an Aluminium frame with both front and back glass. It is a slim smartphone with 8.2mm thickness. Its fingerprint sensor is located inside its display which works well but it is not as fast as the rear mounted fingerprint sensor on OnePlus 6. Though, it will get the job done. It supports Dual SIM but there is no microSD card slot. One drawback is that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. OnePlus provides a Type-C to 3.5mm Audio Jack Adapter for headphones. This smartphone is one of the best looking smartphones and gives you a very premium feel.
Display:
It has a 1080 x 2340 pixels Optic AMOLED display with water drop notch. Its screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It has 86% screen to body ratio and this display is very good and it has good viewing angles. Watching movies and playing games on this screen will give you lot of fun.
Software:
It has Android 9.0 Pie with OxygenOS 9.0.5. This OS is nearly stock and very smooth.
Performance:
This is the most positive thing of this smartphone. It has Snapdragon 845 processor which was Snapdragon′s flagship processor at that time. So no need to tell that it is one of the fastest smartphones in the market even now. It has Adreno 630 GPU which generates high quality graphics and when this processor and GPU combine, they give you one of the best gaming experience. Playing heavy games on this smartphone is a breeze and this smartphone also handles day to day tasks very fast. Its 8 GB RAM again helps to boost its speed.
Camera:
It has 16+20MP Dual camera setup at the rear with the 16MP main lens having OIS. The picture quality is good but it is not the kind of a flagship device, especially when you compare it with Samsung Galaxy S9. Even though, you can live with it.
It can record 4K videos and it even has EIS. You can also record Full HD slow motion videos on this smartphone.
The selfie camera is 16MP single shooter and has a wide angle lens. It can take decent pictures and it also has EIS for video recording.
Battery:
It has a big 3700mAh battery which can last one and half day. Even under heavy usage, it can last for one full day. You don’t have to worry about low battery percentage because this smartphone has Fast charge which charges its battery rapidly.
Positives:
Premium design
Fast performance
Good battery life
Negatives:
No headphone jack
No microSD card slot
Slightly slow fingerprint sensor
Should you buy it?
No doubt it is a good phone. It has good performance, long-lasting battery, good build quality. But now, there is another better smartphone from OnePlus itself. The Oneplus 7 and its base variant is priced at the same price as OnePlus 6T which is Rs. 32999. So, it is not a good decision to Buy OnePlus 6T after June 2019.
