Bajaj has unveiled its electric scooter ‘Chetak’ and it will be available in the market from January 2020. It is newly designed version of Bajaj’s legendary old Chetak scooter and is fully electrical.
Its most of the parts are made up of metal and the build quality feels very premium. It has stylish LED headlight with LED DRLs and rear tail lamp is a split tail lamp which also looks cool. It has alloy wheels having MRF tyres and there is Disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear. A little glove box is placed below the speedometer to keep your important belongings in it.
The speedometer is now totally digital and Bajaj has added so many features in this scooter to connect this scooter to your smartphone. You can also track the performance of this scooter through an app and Bajaj claims there is also an anti-theft system in this scooter and you can get the notification on your smartphone as soon as something suspicious happens with this scooter.
There are two driving modes ‘Eco’ and ‘Sport’. With the Eco mode, you can ride upto 85 kilometers on a single charge and with the Sport mode, you can go upto 95 kilometers as claimed by the company. The battery will take around 5 hours to charge fully but the battery specifications are not revealed by the company.
Bajaj also hasn’t declared the price but there are rumors that it would be priced above 1 lakh.
Overall, Bajaj is again one step ahead of its competitors to get prepared for the future.
